Visitors to the 2014 Washington Auto Show can check out new makes and models from more than 42 manufacturers at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center — running now through Feb. 2, Super Bowl Sunday. Organizers say this year “marks a new era for Washington, D.C.‘s largest public show. With its doubled time frame, from five to ten days, it’s an even bigger bonanza for area residents to enjoy the fully stocked, two-story convention center with an automotive showcase many describe as ‘new-car heaven.’ ”
Highlights of the auto show include Mercedes-Benz, which is showcasing a prototype S-Class which drives via simulator through highways and towns, featuring its latest safety technology. Toyota had two concept cars, including a three-wheeled commuter called the iRoad. Other eye-catching cars included the new Chevy Corvette and the Jaguar F Type convertible. Other new stylings to see are the Ford F-150 Series re-do, the BMW XDrive Wagon, Corvette Stingray and Mini Paceman.
Adult tickets for the show are $13; with seniors, $10; children (6 to 12), $5; and under 6, free.
