Book Lovers and Authors Gather en Masse for National Book Festival (photos)


More than 100,000 book-lovers jumped at a chance to see and hear their favorite authors, poets and illustrators at the 16th Annual National Book Festival at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Sept. 24. Carla Hayden, the new Librarian of Congress, presented popular novelist Stephen King with the Literacy Champion Award for his body of work and commitment to education. Marilynne Robinson received the 2016 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction.
