At the Smithsonian Craft2Wear Show and Sale of Wearable Art, visitors can explore the top tier of American craft artistry. The show runs through Oct. 8.

Four films will be screened on the last day of Seret DC: A Celebration of Contemporary Israeli Cinema, presented by the Washington Jewish Film Festival. “Atomic Falafel” is about a nuclear showdown between Israel and Iran, a scenario that would not normally score high on the laugh-riot meter. But writer-director Dror Shaul manages to raise the weighty premise to high levels of absurdity in this farcical comedy.

Visitors will encounter the early origins of Greek writing and art from the Cycladic and Minoan cultures of the Aegean, then learn about the Mycenaean rulers and priestesses, the warriors of Sparta, the heroes, athletes and philosophers of Classical Greece and the king who would spread Greek culture throughout the world, Alexander the Great.
