Hungarians Celebrate Elegant New Embassy

Ambassador of Hungary Réka Szemerkényi graciously hosted a post-inaugural brunch at the embassy’s new location off Scott Circle, a stunning property, once home to Alexander Graham Bell.

The impressive guest list included former New York Governor George Pataki and Missouri Senator Roy Blunt, who served as chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

Festivities continued with an evening concert by young Hungarian pianist Adám György. Both events, titled “Salute to Freedom,” marked the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight.
