April 6 Cultural Leadership Breakfast: Judy A. Greenberg


Judy A. Greenberg, founding director of the Kreeger Museum, will be the featured speaker at Georgetown Media Group’s next Cultural Leadership Breakfast, the 19th in the series, Thursday, April 6, at the George Town Club, 1530 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

Greenberg, who will step down from her position June 1 after a 23-year tenure, will speak about her experiences creating a new arts institution in the Kreegers’ former residence in Foxhall, designed by Philip Johnson. She will continue to work on the development of the Kreeger’s contemporary sculpture garden. The museum is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the building with special programming this year.

The April 6 event, sponsored by Bonhams, will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. In addition to the featured speaker, William O’Reilly, director of the Impressionist and Modern Art Department at Bonhams, will give brief remarks about his field and the upcoming sale. Accompanying him will be one of the two works by Henri Matisse to be offered at the Bonhams event.
