No bunny rabbits here. While there are indeed doggie Easter egg hunts from New Jersey to Oklahoma, dogs in Georgetown prefer to assist their human friends in finding anything of value in that Easter basket and elsewhere. We present another Dog of the Week. One of their favorite places in town is Rose Park. Story, with interviews by Craig Wilson and photography by Ricardo Jimenez, provided by the Friends of Rose Park.
Olive (named after the street).
Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier.
Nebraska! “That’s where her breeder was.”
Henson (another Wheaten Terrier on N Street).
No barking. “Actually I wish she would now and then. She’s very mellow.”
Theo, Navarro’s eight-year-old son. “They wrestle and she starts out the night at the end of his bed.”
“Look at those eyelashes!”
Diva Dog on Reservoir. “They love her.”
Fromm dog food. “No scraps! She had chicken once and that didn’t work out well.”
WHY A WHEATEN?
“Met a Wheaten named Jack in Lacy Park in San Marino back in California. I fell in love.”
