Inside the Confirmation Hearing for AG Nominee Barr (photos)

Attorney William Pelham Barr testified at a two-day Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Jan. 15 and 16 on his nomination to be attorney general of the United States.

Nominated by President Donald Trump, Barr previously served as U.S. attorney general under President George H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1993. He was grilled by Senate Democrats on his views regarding special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election, seeking assurances that his Justice Department would not impede the investigation and that the full final report would be made available to the public.
