4th Women’s March in D.C. Brings Out Many Faithful (photos)

Rain, snow and freezing temperatures could not keep the faithful from gathering at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Jan. 18, for the fourth annual Women’s March. The size of the crowd was smaller than in previous years, and gone were the celebrity speakers. But the pink “pussyhats” were once again in abundance, their wearers having lost none of their enthusiasm for railing against President Donald Trump and his policies. Sister marches were held across the country.

This year’s Women’s March coincided with the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave and guarantees women’s Constitutional right to vote. It also coincided with the impeachment trial of the demonstrators’ arch nemesis. Equally important, 2020 is a presidential election year, with a record number of female candidates running for that office and others.
