Map Your Own Georgetown at Rose Park Wednesday, July 21

The creator of Mapping Georgetown, a project which records personal stories of Georgetown by those who live, work, study or have lived, worked or studied here, will be at the Georgetown Farmers Market this Wednesday, July 21.

Please come and visit Marilyn Butler of Mapping Georgetown and The Georgetowner Publisher Sonya Bernhardt at the Farmers Market at 26th and O Streets, 3 to 7 p.m. We want you to tell your own story of Georgetown.

Like love letters on a map, forms are available to all. After you write and draw on the map, you can fold it and mail it or send a scanned copy to MappingGeorgetown@gmail.com. Each special story map will be archived at the Georgetown Public Library. Some maps will appear in upcoming Georgetowner Newspapers. There is also the possibility that selections will be made into a book.

Here’s the story on Mapping Georgetown and Marilyn Butler in the latest Georgetowner.

See you Wednesday at Rose Park. Call 202-338-4833 with any questions. Visit MappingGeorgetown.com for more details on the project.
