Crime Report, Jan. 24: Officer Shot, 3 GU Incidents

•An officer of the 4th District was shot in the line of duty in the 1400 block of Quincy Street NW. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from a local hospital. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Chief Robert Contee spoke shortly after the incident and said when the suspect was questioned by officers he fired upon them. “The officers chased the suspect to the 1400 block of Quincy Street and that is where we are focusing our attention as of now,” said Chief Contee. He also noted that the officers did not return fire and has asked people to stay out of that area while MPD is conducting a search for the suspect.
Over the past week, several auto theft and armed robbery arrests were made as well as investigations conducted for similar offenses. Two sexual assault cases and an unlawful entry were reported on the campus of Georgetown University (GU).

Jan. 23 – Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 800 block of P Street NW. MPD is on the lookout for three black males last seen in a black Hyundai Sonata with Pennsylvania tags.

Jan. 22 – Armed Carjacking Arrests Made: MPD has announced arrests have been made for the multiple carjackings on Jan. 20 in the 4000 block of Chesapeake Street NW and in the 2900 block of Van Ness Street NW. Additional details can be found in a MPD press release linked here.
Jan. 21 – Armed Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 7000 block of Georgia Avenue NW. MPD is on the lookout for two black males last seen in a white Honda SUV traveling toward Silver Spring.
Jan. 21 – Armed Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 7000 block of Blair Road NW. MPD is on the lookout for two black males wearing black hoodies and masks.
Jan. 21 – Armed Robbery Investigation: Incident occurred in the 7300 block of Georgia Avenue NW. MPD is on the lookout for two black males around the age of 25 years-old, wearing all black clothing, ski masks, and armed with handguns. They were last seen heading northbound on Fern Place in a white Honda CRV.
Jan. 21 – Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 1400 block of Meridian Place NW. The suspect is a black male, 6’0”, wearing a gray jacket, dark pants, and a black mask.
Jan. 21 – Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery: Investigation underway in the 1400 block of Allison Street NW.

Jan. 20 – Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 3300 block of Brown Street NW. Suspects are two black males, slim build, and both suspects were wearing neon green, high visibility vests.

Jan. 19 – Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 400 block of O Street NW. Suspect is a black male, 5’10”, facial hair, and wearing all dark clothing.

Jan. 18 – Armed Robbery: Incident occurred on Jan. 16 in the 1700 block of 17th Street NW. MPD is seeking assistance in identifying suspects and additional information, including video surveillance footage can be found here.
Jan. 17 – Burglary: A GU student reported that someone entered their residence in the 3600 block of N Street NW and stole a laptop.
Jan. 15 – Sexual Assault: A non-GU affiliate reported that they were sexually assaulted near Darnall Hall located at 3700 O Street NW.
Jan. 15 – Unlawful Entry: A GU student reported that two individuals entered their residence unwelcomed. The student resides at Henle Village located at 3700 O Street NW.
Jan. 13 – Rape: A GU student reported that they were sexually assaulted in or the vicinity of New South Hall located at 37th and O Streets NW.
