Cultural Power Breakfast, April 20: Tudor Place Executive Director

Mark Hudson, executive director of Tudor Place Historic House & Garden, the former home of six generations of Martha Washington’s descendants, will be the April 20 speaker in The Georgetowner’s Cultural Leadership Breakfast Series — now the Cultural Power Breakfast Series. Admission to the event, at the Four Seasons Hotel, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, is $35, payable in advance via Eventbrite.

A Federal-style residence designed by William Thornton, first Architect of the Capitol, Tudor Place occupies a five-and-a-half-acre site in Georgetown. The National Historic Landmark opened to the public in 1988.

Prior to joining Tudor Place in 2015, Hudson headed the Vermont Historical Society and, before that, the Historical Society of Frederick County, Maryland. A Kansas native, he earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in library science at the University of Missouri.

At the April 20 breakfast, Hudson will talk about Tudor Place’s Preservation Master Plan, new initiatives to reach audiences of all backgrounds and ages and the Spring Garden Party coming up on May 24.

Since 2014, The Georgetowner’s monthly Cultural Leadership Breakfast Series has presented 48 insider talks by heads of area museums, theater and dance companies, performing arts venues and other arts organizations.

On April 20, doors open at 8 a.m. for a buffet breakfast; the program follows from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. To purchase tickets, click HERE
