Like Puff Pastries? Have You Tried Palmiers?

I last knowingly and willingly consumed gluten in early September of 2010. It was the year I started my Bachelor’s degree. A whole new world had presented itself to me in that I was in downtown Montreal daily where there are a million bakeries. The sweet smells completely envelop you and you’re drawn in by the scents of puff pastry. Finding good puff pastry that’s gluten free is just about impossible. So, imagine my surprise when I found this Schär puff pastry kit. I love cinnamon rolls and I love palmiers, so, I’m combining them into one perfect treat!

Why Make These Palmiers?

This is such an easy recipe! Once you make these palmiers, you’ll remember the delicious buttery flake one enjoys with puff pastry and it’ll bring you back to a gluten-filled time! It’s an easy 1:1 recipe. A sweet and crunchy dessert, this French puffed pastry is essentially a cinnamon roll in cookie form. Make it today!

  1. Sugar
  2. Cinnamon
  3. Melted Butter
  4. Schar Puff Pastry

How to Make Palmiers

  1. You need to follow the instructions on the package in order to get the best puff out of your puff pastry. Read the label, follow to a “T” and then begin.
  2. Melt your butter in a pot on the stove or in a microwavable safe bowl. You’ll not need much butter. Just enough to coat the puff pastry.
  3. Dab your brush in the butter and essentially paint the pastry. Cover with cinnamon and sugar. Roll your pastry into a cylinder. Slice your pastry and place onto a baking pan with parchment paper.
  4. Follow the instructions on the box for baking times! Once they’re ready, dig in!
