•The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) will its celebrate its 25th anniversary at their annual meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The BID Board of Directors election is now taking place through 5 p.m., Sept. 13, and the results will be announced at the Sept. 25 meeting. Only BID members are eligible to vote.
The Georgetown BID is a coalition of business owners in Georgetown that work to develop the area’s economic and social vitality. Each commercial property owner or tenant within the neighborhood serves as a member.
The BID has spearheaded projects such as the Street Services Program, which monitors litter and trash to keep the neighborhood clean, Dancing on the Waterfront summer dance classes, Georgetown French Market, the Georgetown Sidewalk Widening streetscape initiative and much more.
The BID promotes events held by Georgetown’s business community through their events calendar, as well as by partnering with businesses. This includes the popular Glow festival, usually held during December and part of January, in which public art light installations sparkle the streets of Georgetown.
On Sept. 25, members can celebrate the BID’s 25th anniversary — and “party like it’s 1999” — with cocktails and light fare at 1310 Kitchen & Bar by Jenn Crovato and will hear from BID partners and Ward 2 Council member Brooke Pinto.
