Where to Grab a Local Thanksgiving Dinner


If you’re still wondering where to spend Thanksgiving this year, these seven local restaurants are serving feasts and spreads for all tastes. Whether you’re into the main course like roast turkey, or prefer sides and desserts like mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, there’s something for everyone.

1789

A classic like 1789 is hard to beat when it comes to Thanksgiving fare. The Georgetown staple is serving all the traditional favorites like heritage turkey breast, green beans with almonds, stuffing, cranberry sauce and desserts like “Fairy Tale Pumpkin,” which includes spiced pumpkin mousse, cranberries, pecans and gingerbread sablé. $89/adult, $42/children under 12.

Degrees at the Ritz Carlton

From 5-10 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening, Degrees will be serving a holiday-themed, three-course prix fixe menu. Start with a butternut squash soup with cinnamon crème fraiche, enjoy an oven roasted turkey with chestnut herb stuffing and end your meal with a pumpkin cheesecake. $85/adult (includes wine pairing).

Tony & Joe’s

The Georgetown Waterfront destination will be hosting what they call a “Thanksgiving Feast” with a holiday carving station for every taste: herb roasted turkey, honey glazed ham, pepper crusted prime rib and agave roasted salmon. There will also be sides served family style like stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and decadent desserts. $55/adult, $25/children under 12.

 

Osteria Morini

Osteria Morini at The Yards is serving a three-course, family-style dinner from noon to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. There will be roasted turkey with gravy, whipped potatoes, caramel apple crumble pie and plenty more. $70/adult, $35/child

Blue Duck Tavern

Blue Duck Tavern is serving a true feast on Thanksgiving. There will be a three-course, festive meal with items like cider-brined turkey or slow roasted prime rib, butter whipped potatoes, green bean and mushroom casserole and of course desserts like sugar pumpkin cheesecake. $165/adult, $65/child aged 6-12.

Guests can enjoy a roast heritage turkey with cranberry relish and wild mushroom stuffing, duck confit with caramelized apples and Hakurei turnips, and apple pie, pumpkin pie or chocolate terrine with blackberries and fresh cream. $95/person.

The Smith

The Penn Quarter restaurant is serving Thanksgiving dinner with lots of comfort food options like turkey pot pie, apple brioche stuffing, crispy brussels sprouts and a sticky apple toffee pudding to end your meal. $68/person.
