‘Tis the season for shopping! Here are five local markets to check off everyone on your gift list this year.
When: Saturday, December 14, 2-6 p.m.
Where: 26th and O Streets NW (the basketball courts of Rose Park)
Join the Friends of Rose Park for a holiday market that will include a visit from Santa and a reindeer dog parade too. Local crafts and food vendors will be on hand for all your shopping needs.
When: Now through December 23, Monday-Friday, 12-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Where: F Street between 7th and 9th Streets NW
Now in its 20th year, the holiday market in the Penn Quarter/Chinatown neighborhood will include lots of local vendors as well as festive live entertainment.
When: Now through December 23, Monday-Friday, 12-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Where: 19th Street, just north of Dupont Circle Park
The market will feature over 30 small businesses with artisans, boutique brands, gifts, holiday treats and more. Don’t miss local food like Migue’s Mini Donuts and the Capital Candy Jar too.
When: December 6, 4-8 p.m., December 7, 12-8 p.m., December 8, 12-6 p.m., December 10-13, 4-8 p.m.
Where: Heurich House Museum, 1307 New Hampshire Ave. NW
Wander through the museum’s Castle Garden as you shop at over 60 local, small-scale artisan makers. Warm up with some mulled wine too!
Old Town Alexandria Christmas Market and Holiday Craft Show
When: December 14, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: John Carlyle Square, 300 John Carlyle St., Alexandria
In addition to seasonal artisans and crafts and local food and desserts, there will be live music, Santa on hand for photos, and a kids’ corner with ornament crafting.
