Broadway at The National is hosting “Tina—The Tina Turner Musical” January 24 through 26. Dive into the world of the woman who became known as the Queen of Rock n’ Roll. The show is set to the soundtrack of 12-time Grammy Award winner Turner’s impressive list of hits. The musical is written by Katori Hall, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright. Strathmore and Washington Performing Arts Host Sasha Velour for an Evening
Drag star Sasha Velour is at the Music Center at Strathmore Saturday evening for an entertaining night of lip syncing, childhood film footage, storytelling and more. The performance is presented in partnership with The Capital Pride Alliance. More information on tickets can be found here.
Celebrate La Galette des Rois – Les Vœux 2025 – A French Celebration

The French-American Chamber of Commerce is hosting an evening of festive food and fun at the Embassy of France. There will be music, small giveaways, an open bar, crepes made to order and plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in all things French. Cheer on the Commanders at Millie’s
Millie’s Spring Valley is hosting an NFC Championship watching party Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to cheer on the Washington Commanders as they pay the Philadelphia Eagles. There will be a heated, tented patio, four TV screens and plenty of specials like $25 buckets of Miller Lite and sliders, nachos and more. Percussionists from Silkroad Ensemble are at Center for the Arts in Fairfax

Six members of the Grammy-winning group Silkroad Ensemble founded by Yo-Yo Ma are at the Center for the Arts in Fairfax this Saturday. The program will feature music from Japan, India, Italy and more. The show will focus on both original compositions and traditional works. Don’t miss a performance of “And The Walls Became the World All Around,” a work by Edward Perez, who is a Grammy-winning bassist and composer (and Silkroad Ensemble member). Perez wrote the piece inspired by Maurice Sendak’s iconic children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are.” More information on the performance can be found here.
Comedian Nick Swardson is at the Warner Theatre
Don’t miss funny guy Nick Swardson at Warner Theatre Friday night for his “Toilet Head” show. Some may remember Swardson from his roles on “Reno 911!” and multiple Happy Madison productions, as his good friend is Adam Sandler. More information on tickets to Swardson’s show can be found here.

Running only through early April, the National Gallery of Art’s exhibit, “The ‘70s Lens: Reimagining Documentary” is worth a stop this weekend, as it’s a great winter indoor activity. The show features around 100 works by over 80 artists. It looks at how photographers reinvented documentary practice during a shift in American life.
