Where to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in D.C.

‘Tis the season for love! Here are some great options around Georgetown and D.C. to celebrate romance in all its forms.

Valentine’s week at Osteria Mozza will be romantic, and tasty! Expect lots of aphrodisiacs like burrata and caviar, lobster pot pie and a delicious chocolate tart or butterscotch budino for dessert. The restaurant’s market will also be selling Valentine-themed gift baskets full of delectables like savory charcuterie bites, sweet treats like chocolate spread and biscotti and more. Few reservations are left, but you can still grab lunch or a late dinner on Valentine’s Day.

Le Diplomate
1601 14th St. NW

Le Dip, as Washingtonians affectionately call the classic Parisian eatery on 14th Street, is offering a romance-themed prix fixe menu, or a la carte specials. A dessert worth sharing is the “mi-cuit” with strawberry filling, a molten chocolate cake with a strawberry twist. The specials will be available on February 14 only, not the entire weekend. Please note, much like Osteria Mozza, Le Diplomate has few reservations left.

Single or in a long-term relationship and just don’t feel like going to a fancy dinner? We get it. Jeni’s is offering their Valentine’s collection at their D.C.-area scoop shops. Flavors include “Darkest Chocolate” for chocolate lovers, “Brambleberry Crisp” for tart flavor obsessed.

Starting tomorrow and running through Valentine’s Day, Dog Tag Bakery is serving conversation heart-inspired mini cakes with sweet (and a bit salty!) messages. The treats are perfect for your sweetheart, or if you feel like getting snarky with a frenemy.

Book a Valentine’s weekend staycation at the St. Regis. The hotel is offering luxe overnight accommodations, a guest room (or suite) decorated with rose petals and balloons and complimentary welcome champagne. There will also be a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner for two at the hotel’s restaurant, Alhambra, and will feature venison carpaccio, Chilean sea bass and more.
