The 2025 Georgetown Main Street Small Business Grant Application is now open. Small businesses may apply for up to $5,000. GMS will fund eight or more applicants.
With funds from the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development, the window to apply for a grant opened on February 6. Funds are meant to help expand businesses and increase revenue. The application deadline is Sunday, March 2 at midnight. Awards will be announced at the GMS Annual Meeting on April 2.
Applicants will be evaluated based on a point scale of demonstrated need, the feasibility of the proposal, measurability, and competitive edge.
Executive Director of GMS Rachel Shank explained, “We’re in a time of uncertainty with so many changes happening in our city. One thing that our business community can count on is that the beginning of the year marks the opening of the Georgetown Main Street small business grant. We are keeping the parameters fairly broad this year and encouraging small business owners in the Georgetown Main Street corridor to apply for projects that will really help them address a growth opportunity or a persistent problem. We’re looking for thoughtful, thorough applications that will have a lasting impact on the grantees.
We are grateful to the Department of Small and Local Business Development and the DC Council who make this grant fund possible each year through the DC Main Street Grant.”
Small businesses in the Georgetown Main Street corridor are eligible. Approved uses include: marketing, branding, market research, training, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer experience.
Virtual information sessions will be held on February 11, at 10 a.m. and February 20, at 2 p.m. These sessions will review the application, eligibility, and required documentation. To RSVP to a session click here.
