First made popular by the NBC show Parks and Recreation 15 years ago, Galentine’s Day has become an unofficial celebration of sorts. Every February 13, women and girls are encouraged to celebrate female friendships. Here are some ideas to spend your Galentine’s Day in D.C. this year.
Sake, Savory and Chocolate Dinner with 1310 Kitchen & Bar

Longtime friends Jenn Crovato and certified sake sommelier Michelle Gueydan (who will be visiting the District from New Orleans!) are teaming up for a special Galentine’s Day dinner. The six-course dinner will feature pairings like Asian pear and cocoa cardona cheese and white chocolate crispy rice, Sakura Emaki sake with chocolate dipped potato chips and more. February 13, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. seatings.

The interactive art museum is hosting a Galentine’s Day special that includes an entry ticket, drink of choice (might we suggest the “Dusk Dweller” in a festive pink hue?) and $5 off at the bar for $30. February 13 beginning at 5 p.m.

Ciel Social Club’s popular Galentine’s Day Party includes a custom Valentine-themed cocktail menu sponsored by Codigo and a complimentary shooter at entry. The fun begins at 9 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. February 14, 9 p.m.-midnight.
