See the Pan American Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap

The Pan American Symphony Orchestra will be at The Barns at Wolf Trap Saturday at 8 p.m. The Latin Grammy nominated group will be celebrating the Argentine tango with performances that include live dancers with musical accompaniment. Enjoy Some Much Needed Laughs with Comedian David Nihill

Born and raised in Ireland, comedian David Nihill is heading to the States for some shows. Nihill’s performances focus on his travels, cultural observations and his newest show he’ll be performing Friday evening (at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) will also include reading recommendations. Check Out a Polish Film Festival

The second edition of the Kosciuszko Foundation Polish Film Festival runs Friday through Sunday at the Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema. Two films screen each day in the late afternoon or evening hours. The Kosciuszko Foundation works to promote educational and cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Poland and helps Americans learn more about Polish history and culture. Celebrate International Women’s Day at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

Saturday evening, a film screening and conversation will take place at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in celebration of International Women’s Day. The film, “Miss Chelove: From Java to the Streets of D.C.,” will be screened and afterward, Cita Sadeli (aka Miss Chelove), and filmmaker Sara T. Gama will have a discussion. The program is a complement to “Sightlines: Chinatown and Beyond,” an ongoing exhibit presented by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center. More information on tickets can be found here.

ARTECHOUSE Opens a Vibrant New Spring Exhibit
“Blooming Wonders: A Best of Spring Exhibition” begins its eighth annual tribute to cherry blossom season in D.C. This year’s exhibit starts tomorrow and brings back favorites from interactive exhibits past and runs through the end of April. A highlight includes “Blossoming Field,” a full-floor interactive installation that has three zones where guests can engage with floating orbs, bees, honeycombs and more. Riverdance Steps into The Kennedy Center

The popular dance show dances its way into The Kennedy Center now through March 16. The Grammy Award winning Irish dance troupe is celebrating 30 years with an anniversary show including some fun special effects. More information on tickets can be found here.

Washington Performing Arts Presents “African Queens”

Sunday evening at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, check out the talented soprano Karen Slack and Kevin Miller on piano. Slack debuted the role of Billie in the 2019 premiere of “Fire Shut Up in My Bones” and now brings her commissioning project “African Queens” to the Kennedy Center. The vocal recital will celebrate the history and legacy of seven real-life African queens. The performance is the third annual Ruth Bader Ginsburg Memorial Recital honoring the former Supreme Court justice. More information on the event can be found here.

Take a Bite Out of Your Weekend with Alton Brown

The famous foodie Alton Brown will be at The National Theatre Saturday evening for a discussion called “Alton Brown Live: Last Bite.” He will be chatting about culinary mega-hacks, funny food songs, and more.
