Transport Yourself to Springtime in Paris at Diptyque
This evening, there is still time to grab a ticket to Alliance Francaise’s event with Diptyque in Georgetown, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening will start with a short presentation on French flowers, light bites and champagne and interactive games. Check Out the “Paint Ball” with The National Portrait Gallery
The Teen Museum Council planned a Paint Ball Friday evening for visitors ages 13 to 19 for one last party before school ends for the year. Teens can make art, take photos with friends and win prizes too. More information on the event can be found here.
Folger Consort Ends Season with “Kings and Commonwealth”

The Folger Consort will close out its season with a series of concerts that focus on the political music of the 16th and 17th century in England. Performances will run Friday through Sunday and will include country dances, chamber music and more. More information can be found here.
‘Round and ‘Round You’ll Go at Glen Echo’s Carousel Day

The annual tradition of Carousel Day at Glen Echo Park will be Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be free performances, art projects for kids, a parade through park grounds and more, all to celebrate the opening of the Dentzel carousel for the season. Bid Adieu to Dumbarton Concerts’ 47th Season
Dumbarton Concerts’ 47th season ends Saturday with the Borromeo String Quartet and the rising stars of the Verona Quartet. The program of string octets will feature Mendelssohn to Shostakovich and everything in between. Eight musicians will fill the Dumbarton sanctuary with soaring melodies. Walk to End Homelessness with Friendship Place
Friendship Place Walk to End Homelessness will be on the National Mall on May 3. The walk aims to bring awareness and resources to end homelessness. Proceeds benefit Friendship Place, a local non-profit that provides programs to help homeless individuals rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs and more. Clean Up Book Hill Park Saturday Morning

Saturday from 9-11 a.m., head to Book Hill Park for their annual spring cleanup. Attendees should bring gloves, trowels, clippers, brooms and rakes. Children are welcome and so are teens seeking community service hours. More information can be found here.
Celebrate the Kentucky Derby at the Watergate Hotel
The Watergate Hotel’s “The Next Whisky Bar” is hosting an evening celebrating the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Don’t miss Derby-themed festivities (including a viewing of what is often called the most thrilled two minutes in sports), cocktails like mint juleps and a best hat challenge too. Don’t Miss the Running of the Chihuahuas!
The popular Running of the Chihuahuas at The Wharf is May 3. Don’t miss the free event that features over 150 chihuahuas racing in groups of eight on a 60-foot racetrack.
