CAG’s Super Week Mid-May!

The Citizens Association of Georgetown—better known as CAG—has done it again! This past week, they hosted not one, but three exciting community events.

First up on Wednesday was “Take Over the Bar”, a fun, informal gathering where locals—both longtime residents and newcomers—as well as people who work in Georgetown, met and mingled. The event was free and open to all, and was a great way to explore new spots around town. This week’s venue was the newly opened Billy Hicks, and more than 90 people signed up!

On Saturday, CAG held an “Architectural Walk Through Georgetown” tour with about 50 people in attendance, highlighting the neighborhood’s rich spiritual heritage. This year’s theme focused on Georgetown’s churches and synagogues, timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Epiphany Catholic Church. The annual tour is always a hit, offering fascinating insights into the town’s many historic landmarks.

Finally, on Sunday, nearly 500 people turned out for Concerts in the Park—a crowd so big and an event so special, we gave it its own story!

If you’re interested in learning more about architecture and meeting your neighbors, tomorrow evening, May 20, from 6-8:00 p.m. is “The Conversations Between Generations” organized by Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter at the GeorgeTown Club. Tickets here.
