Wild Weather Wallops the Region

D.C. had some crazy weather last week and is up for more today. Last week though was truly remarkable—the temperature ping-ponged from a high of 86 degrees on Wednesday to 33 degrees by Thursday afternoon. The 53-degree temperature drop was the biggest since weather observations began at Reagan National Airport in 1945.
The temperature plunge ended up resulting in a dusting to 2 inches of snow. As wild as it sounds, the same day it snowed, it was 78 degrees before dawn.
Today, the area is expected to experience more severe weather, this time the threat of thunderstorms and possible isolated tornadoes.
March is supposed to go out like a lamb. Let’s hope that adage is true!
