Georgetown Welcomes Cherry Blossom Season

If you don’t want to brave downtown cherry blossom crowds, we completely understand! Celebrate the season in Georgetown with these six activities, including a watercolor workshop, themed treats, and strolling through Dumbarton Oaks to check out their cherry trees.
Jinya Ramen Bar

For the entirety of the Cherry Blossom Festival, Jinya Ramen Bar is offering a limited time cocktail: the Sakura Spring. The light and refreshing—and very pink–cocktail is the perfect drink to pair with your bowl of choice to usher in cherry blossom season.
Catbird

Catbird, the fashion brand based in Brooklyn with an outpost in Georgetown is hosting a weekend celebrating all things cherry blossoms. The demi-fine jewelry brand is bringing back its limited-edition cherry blossom charm which will be available only in-store the weekend of March 20-22.
Watercolor Workshop at M.M. LaFleur

M.M. LaFleur is hosting a cherry blossom-themed watercolor workshop led by Angélica Boleta on March 28. Participants will learn wet-on-wet techniques, as well as color mixing, wet-on-dry and more. The workshop is made for beginners and all materials are provided.
Dumbarton Oaks
1703 32nd St. NW
Guests are invited to check out the cherry blossoms at Dumbarton Oaks on April 11. Visitors can enter in two timed sessions to the museum and gardens. There will be crafting like medallion making, pressed flower postcards and a mosaic workshop too. Tickets are required, but free of charge. Registration ends April 9.

Fairmont

The Fairmont Georgetown is hosting Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea on weekends from March 20 through April 12, with seatings between 1 and 3 p.m. The hotel will be decorated with festive cherry décor, and there will be sweet treats like cherry blossom tartlets, shades of pink macarons, and of course celebratory teas like flora’s berry garden and rose congou.
