A Toast to Trailblazers: Georgetown Women Shine at Inaugural Event

The Georgetowner, along with the Georgetown BID, Georgetown Heritage, Black Georgetown Foundation, Citizens Association of Georgetown and Georgetown Main Street hosted a casual Women’s Happy Hour at 1310 Kitchen & Bar last Thursday, March 19. This inaugural event, with well over 100 women taking over the space to celebrate Women’s History Month.
There was a chance to meet many newcomers including Mary Francis Wain, new director of Tudor Place. Toward the end of evening, there was a surprise visit from March Georgetowner cover girls, Nita and Skye, who were screaming in delight to see themselves on the cover in print. We look forward to hosting more events just like this, and thank you to all who were able to attend!
Also, in case you missed it, we asked the women of Georgetown about the best advice they’ve received and lessons they’ve learned in their careers thus far. You can catch up on that piece here.
