The Citizens Association of Georgetown held its 1751 party on Sept. 17 at the historic City Tavern and filled it like never before — hitting a record for a CAG gala at more than 450 attendees.
“Before There Was America, There Was Georgetown” was the party theme, boasting that the town is 25 years older than the United States of America.
Friends and neighbors celebrated downstairs and upstairs with ample food and drink — gathering to salute this year’s honorees: Florence Auld, Jessica Bieligk, Richard Hinds, Rick Murphy, Jennifer Romm and Nancy Taylor-Bubes.
CAG President Amy Titus greeted the crowd in the ballroom and thanked co-chairs Elizabeth Miller, Amy Kuhnert and Libby Cox, along with event sponsors John and Kristin Cecchi, owners of the City Tavern. Ward 2 Council member Brooke Pinto presented a District Council Resolution on Georgetown’s 275th Anniversary.
