What do Jackie Kennedy, Julia Child, the Peter sisters, Elizabeth Taylor, Evangeline Bruce and Lorraine Cooper have in common?
Their images and inspiration are part of the “Ladies of Georgetown” Capsule Collection, inspired by prominent ladies who lived in Georgetown. The adornments and bling — unique and 18 karat gold — are now on display at Amanda Hagerman Jewelry on Prospect Street through Oct. 31.
The jewelry store celebrated its first year in Georgetown on Sept. 24, with “One Year In Georgetown: An Evening of Women, Jewelry & History,” a preview night that introduced the collection. The evening was cohosted by Amanda Hagerman and Jamie Peva, real estate agent and historian.
In her remarks, Hagerman thanked Peva — “happy to know someone talented like you” and who was the one that made the connection to the Prospect Street property. She said coming to Georgetown was her husband Adam’s idea and that they are “all in.” She also thanked Rachel Shank of Georgetown Main Street for helping her meet people. “I feel I have a community now,” she said.
All “Ladies of Georgetown” pieces are for sale but will remain on display through the duration of the exhibition.
