Last seen by a Washington Performing Arts audience in 2017 in the company of fellow keyboard titan Marc-André Hamelin—in what the Washington Post celebrated as “a Grand Slam match of crack pianists”—Andsnes returns for an intimate and wide-ranging evening of solo works by Beethoven, vaunted Czech composers and 19th/20th-century contemporaries Dvořák and Janáček, and the more rarely performed 20th-century Russian composer Alexander Vustin.
