Join the dancers, singers, and actors of Word Dance Theater on a journey through time to explore the historic women’s rights movement and how it inspires us in 2023 to seek greater civic engagement and equity for all people and particularly women. We will weave Isadora Duncan’s historical dances from the early suffragist period, with contemporary dances created by Duncan dancer and choreographer, Cynthia Word. Songs and stories of suffragists then and now, created from historical and contemporary writings of the women’s movement, tell us of what has changed and what has not. Each scene will celebrate and build upon the heritage of the women’s rights movement. You will be entertained and inspired!
