This Pride Month, Story District presents the fourteenth annual Out/Spoken, a live performance of eight true stories, spotlighting hilarious and poignant experiences from the DMV’s diverse LGBTQ+ community.
Out/Spoken is not just a performance, it’s a celebration of identity, resilience, and love. Through personal narratives, audiences will be immersed in the lived experiences of individuals whose stories traverse the spectrum of gender, sexuality, and human emotion.
Each story in Out/Spoken is a testament to the power of visibility and the courage it takes to live authentically in a world that often demands conformity. From tales of self-discovery to meet-cutes, these narratives resonate with universal themes of love, friendship, and growing up.
“We’re thrilled to present Out/Spoken to kick off this year’s Pride festivities,” says Story District Director Amy Saidman, “At its core, this show is about amplifying LGBTQ+ voices and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our shared humanity. We believe that by sharing our stories, we can inspire empathy and build a more inclusive society.”
