RealmScape Festival: Celebrating BIPOC & LGBTQIA in Fantasy

April 28, 2023 @ 9:30 am - April 29, 2023 @ 6:00 pm EDT

Free

” What is RealmScape? A Festival inspired by the love of inclusion, education & magic. King J’vonte Lee, the visionary behind this DIY project, and, as you may remember – Faeryscape: Afro Fae Day of May 2022. Which was a one-time event to honor and celebrate of his crowning! His crowning was in April 2022 by Nina Amaya of the Baltimore Faerie Faire Community. Our King continues to uplift and educate the misguided, and let’s not to forget, also advocates for the under represented everyday! Since the success of the one-time event and due to the need to continue advocating and evolving other events across the Fae Community It was decided that King J’vonte needed to be more than just the Seelie King of Baltimore for the Spring. He needed to retain his crown. In November of 2022, Nina Amaya announced that King J’vonte would retain his crown as ruler of RealmScape, which includes Afro-Magicka, and Quirky Fey. This Festival was created to celebrate the memory of his Crowning, continued active leadership and to bring awareness which drives change in the community. We gather to celebrate Mystical Culture of Colors!

RealmScape is one of the first BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ focused Fae Festivals on the East Coast! We offer this FREE event to those of all ages and gender identities. We promote positive representation of all shades of browns, and capabilities in mainstream media, & visual arts, particularly in renaissance mythical fantasy aesthetics. We create a visible space, without the intention to exclude any international cultures to continue to have a Renaissance with a bit of futuristic edge to the overarching fantasy aesthetic. We invite all our Faefolk friends from our tight knit Magical Community of the DMV area to support a long dreamed of goal. A festival unlike any other festival. We are finally coming to a time where BIPOC or LGBTIA+ Fantasy Artists, Authors, Vendors, Performers, Musicians and other Magi conduits can thrive and expand through our influence in order to appeal to others like you! We hope you enjoy your experience. Be on the look out for more events under Realm’s Workshop umbrella, including Afro-Magicka & Quirky Fey events.

Mission: To uplift, educate, and unify BIPOC & LGBTIA+ creative persons throughout the communities of Fantasy Fandom & Multi-Cultural Spiritual lifestyles in an all inclusive way.

Goal: Expand the mindsets of all walk of Fae & Magi conduits. Inspire, reinvigorate and evolve the social experiences at Festivals & Conventions across the globe! Pass-on the love and support to their neighboring Communities.

Vision: Creating a cultural experience in a safe space for those who are different, and connect with open-minded –kind –generous people like themselves. ”
