Weekend Roundup, July 4-7


Happy July 4 week! We’ve got an early weekend roundup for you with lots to do to not only celebrate Independence Day, but the whole weekend after. The Nationals will be hosting a series versus the New York Mets, The National Archives is feting the 4th all day, and much more. Happy Independence Day!

An American Celebration at Mount Vernon
Celebrate Independence Day at Mount Vernon July 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take the whole family to watch made for daylight fireworks, see a ceremony where individuals become U.S. citizens and there will of course be lots of food and drinks available from Mount Vernon Inn Food Truck and Half Crown Bakehouse. Celebrate with The Nationals
The Washington Nationals are celebrating Independence Day all week long versus the Mets. Start Wednesday with post-game fireworks and a 50/50 Raffle early bird prize of Bruce Springsteen tickets. On Thursday, there will be a giant American flag unveiling in center field before the game, a simulcast at Al-Udeid military base in Qatar, and fans ages 21+ can get a free 25 oz. Budweiser, Bud Light, or Michelob Ultra beer by scanning their game ticket. More information on the celebrations can be found here.

Enjoy a Rooftop Celebration at CUT Above at Rosewood
The 4th of July will be celebrated at CUT Above at the Rosewood Hotel. There will be a family-style surf-and-turf menu with ribeye, lobster, crab cakes and more. Later, sip on cocktails as you check out one of the best vantage points for D.C. fireworks. More information on this party at the Rosewood can be found here.

Get Country with Fourth at the Wharf
The Wharf neighborhood has decided to go country for the Fourth. Celebrate with free live country music from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Wharf’s outdoor stages. Area restaurants will offer to-go food items, where guests can enjoy games, sip on drinks and see great views from the National Park Service fireworks that are launched from the Lincoln Memorial. Kick Off the Fourth at The National Archives
Home of the Declaration of Independence, The National Archives celebrates Independence Day like none other. Come early for a 9 a.m. reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by the Presentation of Colors by the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard and Continental Color Guard, the National Anthem by Dr. Kimberly Hess and the Marymount University Chamber Choir, and more throughout the day. Gold’s Gym Georgetown Park Workout Series
Work off all your Independence Day food and drinks with this outdoor fitness series. Saturday at 9 a.m., meet at Georgetown Park (right outside Pinstripes) with class offerings in Zumba, HIIT training, and more. More information on the classes can be found here.

Go Retro with TLC and En Vogue at Wolf Trap
Celebrate the ‘90s with TLC and En Vogue, along with Jody Watley at Wolf Trap Friday evening. T-Boz and Chilli of TLC will be celebrating the group’s 1994 album “CrazySexyCool” and En Vogue will be performing hits like “Free Your Mind” and “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)”. See the Integriti Reeves Quintet at the Kennedy Center
The Integriti Reeves Quintet is performing Friday evening at 7 and 9:30 p.m. at River Pavilion at the Kennedy Center. Reeves’ jazz style has been called “Modern Vintage,” with the purity of Ella Fitzgerald and the smokiness of Nat King Cole.
