Thousands gathered near Freedom Plaza in the District on Sunday, Sept. 24, to celebrate Turkish art and culture at the 15th annual Turkish Festival, sponsored by the American-Turkish Association of Washington, D.C. The family-friendly festival featured a Turkish bazaar and a rich variety of live musical and folk-dance performances from Yeditepe University Folklor Club of Istanbul, Kardelen Turkish Dance Ensemble, Necioglu Family, Nomad Dancers, Raqs Habibi Teen World Dance Company, Silk Road Dance Company, Carolina Hernandez and Zafire Ladies in DC.
