Revel in the lovely melodies of English 17th century composers William Byrd, William Inglot, Orlando Gibbons, Henry Purcell, John Blow and William Croft. Renowned British keyboardist Colin Booth performs these works on period instruments – the harpsichord, muselar and ottavino. Integral to all the pieces performed is the Grounde, a very popular musical form of the period which includes a repeated base line offset by variations. The Grounde continues to exert its influence on today’s classical composers. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and meet the artist after the concert.
