Spring Days of Design
On Thursday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., Design Within Reach, 3338 M St. NW in Georgetown’s Design District, will host “Talking Design,” a free reception and panel discussion with DC by Design’s Jennifer Sergent and designers Joe Ireland, Elizabeth Kannan and Nicole Lanteri. Fruity Beauty Event at L’Occitane
At this first-access preview event — Friday, May 3, through Sunday, May 5, at L’Occitane, 3106 M St. NW in Georgetown — customers can try and buy lip scrubs, lip balms and lipsticks that are part of L’Occitane’s juicy, fruity lip care collection. ‘An Evening at the Opera’
The vocal and instrumental departments at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, 3500 R St. NW, will present “An Evening at the Opera,” featuring costumed senior vocalists accompanied by a chorus of underclassmen vocalists and a full pit orchestra. Performances are Friday, May 3, at 10 a.m. and Saturday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the shorter Friday show are $15 and $5 for students. Comedy at the Barns
The Barns at Wolf Trap, 1635 Trap Road in Vienna, Virginia, will present Wolf Trap’s 32nd annual comedy evenings, with comedy club-style stand-up shows featuring Brad Upton, Tammy Pescatelli and Steve Mittleman on Friday, May 3, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and $28. Chocolate Festival at French Embassy
The DC Chocolate Festival, featuring more than 30 vendors, will return to the Embassy of France, 4101 Reservoir Road NW, on Saturday, May 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. In addition to tastings, the festival offers film screenings, book signings, talks and workshops for kids and adults. May Revels at National Cathedral Flower Mart

Dance Performance at Portrait Gallery

On May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, Scorpio Entertainment will transform the lobby of Reagan National Airport’s historic Terminal A in Arlington, Virginia, into a spaceship-inspired cosmic dance party. Dumbarton Concerts: Turtle Island Quartet
