Keeping Calm When Things Go Wrong

How does one cope with the uncertainty and instability of our chaotic modern world without getting jaded or living in a constant state of anxiety? In this special half day workshop with resident teacher Gen Demo we will explore practical methods for transforming adversity from the point of view of Buddhist philosophy, psychology and meditative practice.

GUIDED MEDITATION
Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind, let go of distractions and cultivate inner peace.

TEACHING
Gen Demo will then give a practical teaching based on the topic of the class series and explain how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

CONCLUDING MEDITATION
The class concludes with a guided meditation to help us mix our mind with the teaching and take it to heart. There is also an opportunity to ask questions.
Gen Kelsang Demo is the Midwestern US National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher here at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington DC. She has been a student and disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years and has been teaching for over 20 years.

Gen Demo is deeply respected as a teacher and practitioner. She demonstrates a wealth of practical knowledge and provides clear and inspiring teachings for people of all levels of interest.
