“Nation to Nation” presents the history of the treaties that lie at the heart of the relationship between Indian Nations and the United States. The exhibition explores the development and legacy of U.S. and American Indian diplomacy from the colonial period through the present. This exhibition is also accompanied by the book, “Nation to Nation: Treaties Between the United States and American Indian Nations,” 272 pp; edited by Suzan Shown Harjo (Cheyenne and Holdulgee Muscogee); copublished by NMAI and Smithsonian Books.
