Dumbarton United Methodist Church doesn’t expect worshipers to adhere to strict doctrinal precepts, but it does encourage believers to take up the challenge of Christian faith to make the world kinder to the many people who suffer from its unfairness. In 2022, the church will have a number of Adult Education sessions led by people inside and outside our congregation who have felt called to “live their faith” in some way, and hearten others to join their cause.
Our January 9 Adult Ed discussion leaders will be Amy Vruno, lead organizer for the Washington Interfaith Network, and three Dumbartonians active in WIN. WIN works with DC government agencies and elected officials, synagogues, a mosque, Protestant and Catholic churches, and labor unions to improve housing and expand job opportunities for immigrants and the poor, and to mitigate the impacts of a changing climate in the District. Learn about what WIN is planning for 2022 and see where you might feel called to action.
Sunday’s session, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., will be on Zoom only. To participate, dial 301-715-8592. The meeting ID is 823 2708 4830, and the passcode is 801277.
