Book Hill Tree Lighting Brings Holiday Glow to Georgetown
By • December 11, 2025 0 82
Georgetown neighbors gathered in style on the evening of December 4 for a festive and joyful Book Hill Tree Lighting. The brief yet spirited celebration drew a lively crowd eager to welcome the season and admire the newly installed tree, adorned with beautiful ornaments generously sponsored by Martin’s Tavern. The tree has already become a charming addition to the neighborhood’s holiday landscape.
Rachel Shank, Executive Director of Georgetown Main Street, welcomed the community and wished everyone a peaceful and joyous holiday season. Luis Valle of Martin’s Tavern shared warm remarks of his own, noting that Georgetown is the best neighborhood and expressing the restaurant’s delight in supporting and serving a community they love while helping make it more festive.
Carolers from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts filled Book Hill with classic holiday songs that lifted the spirit of the evening. Children cheered as a raucous snow machine transformed the block into a playful winter scene, adding a magical touch to the night.
The celebration concluded with an intimate gathering at Addison/Ripley Fine Art and Consulting, where neighbors mingled and enjoyed the warmth of the season together.
