Memorial Day Weekend in Photos

Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for those who have died serving our country. The Memorial Day weekend also marks the unofficial beginning the the summer season, and the weather was near perfect for those enjoying the activities.

The National Memorial Day Parade along Constitution Avenue featured marching bands and veterans units from all 50 states and every branch of service.

The National Memorial Day Concert of the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol featured actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise as well as other guest artists along with the National Symphony Orchestra.

The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally, featuring hundreds of thousands of riders and now in its 26th year, sounded out its annual demonstration seeking to improve veteran benefits and resolve POW/MIA issues.
