The Nation’s Capital Celebrates the Fourth of July – in Photos

Despite threaening skies, thousands once again descended on the National Mall for a full day of July 4 festivities including a ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of the National Archives; a performance by the United States Army’s premier musical organization, the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps; the National Independence Day Parade; and the nationally televised “A Capitol Fourth” concert from the West Capitol Lawn followed by a fireworks display over our national monuments.
