On May 10, Ambassador Altidor opened the doors of his beautifully restored embassy showcasing splendid art from Gallerie Monnin in Port-au-Prince to welcome supporters of Restore Mass Ave. This is the 10th anniversary of the group’s first tree planting to revive the full canopy of trees and make this historic “grand avenue” a model for sustainable historic streets everywhere. The ambassador noted that Founder and President Deborah Shapley had used the embassy’s hose, expressing that “saving trees is hope, caring for some living thing.” Bobbie Brewster is spearheading efforts to return Sheridan Circle to its former splendor.
