Body Found Near P Street Bridge


A dead body was found near P Street Bridge and Rock Creek Parkway around 6:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The site of the discovery is covered by trees and shrubs and near 23rd Street NW.

Police say there are no apparent signs of foul play and that the cause of death is unknown.

“This case involved an individual who was found unresponsive at 23rd and P Street,” MPD Second District Commander Melvin Gresham told The Georgetowner. “There was no indication that this incident involved criminal activity and the matter is being classified as a death report.”

Crossing above Rock Creek and the Rock Creek Parkway, the 336-foot-long P Street Bridge is also named Lauzun’s Legion Bridge and connects Georgetown and the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
