Honoree and acclaimed television host and chef, Lidia Bastianich, was among six awardees at the annual National Italian American Foundation Gala held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Oct. 13. Chef Bastianich spoke of actor Sophia Loren who coined the phrase to her life’s success around her great love for pasta. The NIAF weekend festivities were kicked off on Friday night
by one of Washington’s favorite Italian sons, Franco Nuschese, at his annual Cafe Milano evening where he pays tribute to the many contributions Italian Americans have made for America.
