Constitution Avenue was transformed into a virtual sea of red on Saturday, Nov. 2, as young and old descended on the District to pay homage to the newly crowned champions of Major League Baseball. The crowds lining the streets were 20 deep in some areas. It was just three days since the Washington Nationals’ dramatic Game 7 victory over the Houston Astros — and 95 years since the original Senators earned the city’s last and only other MLB championship. The parade culminted at a rally on a makeshift stage just a few blocks from the Capitol.
