Key Bridge Jumper Rescued by Private Boater

An adult male jumped off the east side of Key Bridge around 8:30 p.m., Monday, August 10. He was rescued by a private boater on the Potomac River and brought to the dock of Washington Harbour on the Georgetown waterfront to be attended by D.C. Fire & EMS and Metropolitan Police Harbor Patrol.

Waterfront strollers and outdoor diners, including this reporter and her friends at Nick’s Riverside Grille, watched as the conscious young man, who appeared to be about 25 years old, screamed in pain when he was stabilized with a neck brace and put onto a gurney. He was transported to a local hospital.
