On the last day of August, a “Welcome to Fall” reception welcomed a nice mix of folks, some of whom had not seen each other in a while, to the second floor of Cafe Milano. Hosted by Intevity’s CEO Ben Elmore and VP Mark Smith and Janet Donovan of Creative Enterprises, the happy get-together boasted fine wines, hearty hors d’oeuvres and a hip playlist from DJ Seyhan a la St. Tropez.
Among the guests: former Mayor Adrian and former Council member Jack Evans, along with Kevin Chaffee, Pamela Sorenson, Sheila Widenfeld and Larry Leamer, author of “Capote’s Women,” which is set to get the movie treatment. Elmore and Smith, who run a tech company that “helps you make more money,” they said, were happy to be back in D.C. and welcomed all.
