Sitar on the Piazza Enchants at I Ricchi

On a sun-lit Sept. 8 evening, more than 115 supporters of Sitar Arts Center gathered on Ristorante i Ricchi’s patio on 19th Street NW to enjoy delicious i Ricchi delicacies, live music from Sitar’s Saints Band, a live painting of the event by Selena Jackson and Donyel Marbley, an energetic art auction and warm reunions and introductions.

Carroll Dey of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty chaired the event and thanked Christianne Ricchi, chef and owner of Ristorante i Ricchi, as well as the sponsors and host committee. Dey spoke of joining the Sitar board in 2017 and how working with people who really care about their community had changed her life. Several works of art, including a live painting of the event, were auctioned. An optional dinner and an opportunity to join Sitar Arts Center artists and leaders inside the restaurant followed.

Sitar Arts Center in Adams Morgan is a leader for community arts education and youth workforce development in Washington, D.C., committed to removing the financial barriers that many young people face in achieving their full potential and that families face in securing arts and educational opportunities for their children.
