Volta Park Fall Fest Steps Up Its Games for the Kids

Volta Park’s Fall Festival returned Oct. 15 to a sunny, beautiful Saturday of friends, family, fun and food. This year, organizers, the Friends of Volta Park, stepped up their game — literally — with more activities for the kids, as in: a Petting Zoo, Moon Bounce, Ring Toss, Duck Pond, Hoopla, Fish Bowl Toss, Pork Chop Speedway and Milk Can Toss.

The Metropolitan Police Department provided popcorn, and the Georgetown University Grilling Society did the grilling (hot dogs and hamburgers).

Sponsors for the fun activities were the Little Folks School and Liz D’Angio of Washington Fine Properties.

Volta Park is a green oasis in the heart of Georgetown. Friends of Volta Park is a community-based non-profit dedicated to the public park at 34th Street and Volta Place — voltapark.org.

The park’s next big event? Dec. 9 — Happy Holidays in the Park and a Santa Visit.
