If you’re looking to help donate to the Maui fire relief efforts, here are a few options including the Maui Humane Society, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and local Chef José Andrés’s World Central Kitchen.
The Hawai’i Community Foundation
The foundation’s Maui Strong Fund is providing financial resources that can be used quickly with a focus on quick response and recovery. The foundation will not be collecting any donation fees, 100 percent of the funds will go toward community needs (click the link above).
The Maui Humane Society and Hawaiian Humane Society
Both animal rescues are helping injured and displaced animals. They are also working diligently to reunite lost pets with their owners. You can donate to the shelters’ relief efforts in the link above.
José Andrés’ organization is aiding the fire relief efforts with their initiative “Chefs for Hawaii.” Learn more clicking the link above.
One of the easiest ways to make a difference to help Red Cross workers in Maui is to visit redcross.org, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
For every $1 donated, the Maui Food Bank can give four meals to those in need on the island.
The organization’s Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division is accepting donations for meals for displaced residents currently in emergency shelters.
